Haitians in lock-up
published: Tuesday | November 15, 2005

THREE HAITIAN nationals, a male and two females, have been placed in lock-ups at the Santa Cruz and Lacovia police stations in St. Elizabeth.

They were arrested last week and charged with illegal entry into Jamaica. The male, 22-year-old Joseph Andrews of Okia, was arrested last Tuesday and the females, Anne Be Monb and 30-year-old Esta Dell, were both arrested by the Santa Cruz police last Friday.

The police told The Gleaner that, on Tuesday, they carried out an operation at a house at Goshen district, about five miles out of Santa Cruz. The house was searched and Andrews was found hiding in one of the rooms.

On Friday, the police went to the same house where they found the two women. In the meantime, the police are now awaiting an interpreter to assist them in their investigation.
