KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent (AP):
A TROPICAL depression which developed on Sunday is churning away towards the north-west Caribbean and is expected to become Tropical Storm Gamma today or tomorrow.
The poorly organised depression was moving south of the Dominican Republic, Richard Knabb, a meteorologist with the United States Hurricane Center in Miami, said yesterday.
It is expected to pass south of Jamaica by this weekend.
The system has already claimed two victims as it pounded sections of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago on Monday, triggering landslides and flooding.
