CHIEF JUSTICE Lensley Wolfe is to make a ruling today in relation to submissions made yesterday in the absence of the jury at the Kraal murder case.
Lawyers for the Crown and the defence made submissions for the entire day.
After the Chief Justice makes his ruling it is expected that other Crown witnesses will be called. There are 45 Crown witnesses listed on the back of the indictment.
They include a 10-year-old girl and Kingston businessman Danhai Williams.
Senior Superintendent Reneto Adams, corporals Patrick Coke and Shane Lyons and constables Roderick Collier, Leford Gordon and Devon Bernard have been on trial since October 31 for the murder of four civilians at Kraal, Clarendon.
The Crown is alleging at the trial in the Home Circuit Court that on May 7, 2003 a police party, led by SSP Adams, former head of the disbanded Crime Management Unit (CMU), went to Kraal, Clarendon, in search of Bashington Douglas, otherwise called 'Chen Chen'.
They went to a house in the district where they allegedly shot and killed 39-year-old Lowena Thompson, 47-year-old Angella Richards, who was Douglas' girlfriend, Kirk Gordon and Matthew James, both 27 years old.
The Crown is alleging that the policemen were not acting in self-defence when the civilians were fatally shot.
