H View look to settle score against Portmore
published: Tuesday | November 22, 2005

Nodley Wright, Freelance Writer

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Portmore United and runaway leaders Harbour View will meet today in a grudge match in the Wray and Nephew National Premier League (NPL) at Ferdie Neita Park.

Sitting 10 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Portmore United, Harbour View are without doubt the form team of the tournament. They have had just two blemishes on their performance this season - three if the first End-of-Round Final is considered - losing to Portmore United and Village United.

SETTLING THE SCORE

Today the main thing that should be on the minds of the Harbour View players is settling the score with Portmore United. In their first round game they were beaten 1-0 at Harbour View through a goal by Sheldon Palmer.

Following Sunday's 3-0 winning performance against Constant Spring the east Kingston team should be in a good mood.

Portmore United, on the other hand, did not look as comfortable as they were held 0-0 at Ferdie Neita Park by Village United in a competitive fixture. Not much should be read in Sunday's results as both teams always lift the level of their game for each other.

EXCITING MATCH

The match, which takes place at 3:00 p.m., should be an exciting one for the spectators with the calibre of players expected to be on show. For Portmore United will be national representatives Shawn Sawyers, Tyrone Sawyers, Omar Daley, Jason Morrison; former national player Christopher Dawes as well as Grenada international Anthonty Modeste.

Harbour View will be fielding national defender Jermaine Taylor, national youth representatives Marcelino Blackburn who struck a double on Sunday, goalkeeper Ryan Thompson, Kemar Petrekin and Kevin King.
