MANCHESTER HIGH'S Natoya Goule and Wainard Talbert of Lion Heart Track Club came away with mixed results at Sunday's Burger King 10K, the final race of the 2005 "Jamdammers & the No Violence One Love Grand Prix Series".

Goule, who has been unbeaten for the past two seasons, won in 38 minutes and 26.8 seconds ahead of G.C. Foster's Areita Martin (38:39.1) and Vere's Teneisha Davis 39:10.0), while Talbert, who has never won this event in four attempts, was fourth in 33 minutes, 7.9 seconds.

Sean Pitter of Windalco won the event in a new course record of 32 minutes, 7.2 seconds ahead of last year's winner Phillip Edwards of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in 32:22.2 and Rupert Green 32:30.5.

MAXIMUM 84 POINTS

At the end of the four-race series, Goule won with maximum 84 points ahead of Martin (71) and G.C. Foster's Tamica Thomas (66).

Talbert retained his overall title with 80 points over Pitter and Green (72 each).

In celebrating her second Grand Prix title, a confident Goule said: "I am not going to let anyone beat me.

"I set my own pace, I don't stop, I do what my coach told me to do and God helped me through."

Talbert said since losing to Linton McKenzie in 2003, after which he passed out a lot of blood, he got scared of this race.

"I'm just afraid of the race, especially when I reach the guango tree (Waterford). When I reached the big guango tree that's where I lost focus, especially when I remember what happened in 2003.

WINNER

Pitter, who won the race, said: "I was prepared for this race, I was determined to win and from 2K I just went out and started pressuring everyone," he said.

The Grand Prix winners received $20,000 each, second $15,000and third $10,000.

Meanwhile, Goule and MVP Club and University of Technology's Andre Drummond were the Future Champions for which they pocketed J$15,000.

The Champion School titles went Edwin Allen (78) girls and Holmwood boys (82) for $15,000.

Holmwood (72) and Manchester (69) were second and third in the girls' section for $10,000 and $5,000 respectively, so too were the boys from Bellefield (75) and Edwin Allen (74).
