Jamaica's Pepsi thanks customers
published: Sunday | November 27, 2005

Andrew Reid (left), general manager of Pepsi Cola Jamaica, shares a hearty joke with Turo and Karen Ziadie of Turo's Pizza.

Pepsi Cola Jamaica recently feted customers at its annual Pepsi Club Awards Luncheon at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

The luncheon honours the efforts and achievements of the grocery and wholesale operators. The event featured the presentation of prizes valued at over $600,000, entertainment by Rising Stars winner Christopher Martin, and a most lively auction that had guests bidding 'Pepsi Dollars' to get cellular phones, coolers and other 'Pepsi stuff'.

General manager of Pepsi Cola Jamaica, Andrew Reid, announced that the Pepsi Club group had generated higher growth in sales than any of the company's other customer categories.

"Results show that despite many challenges this year, including inflation and weather, Pepsi Club members have weathered the storms and have done well in 2005," he said. He also outlined some of the company's other activities, including the next in the series of Jamaicans on the Ting label, and the promotion planned to tie in with a 2006 summer blockbuster movie.

As for the awards? First place winners for Pepsi Club member of the year were Hew's Supermarket (St. Ann) in the supermarket category, S&S Supersales (Montego Bay) in the Wholesaler Channel and Stop and Go Mini Mart (Mandeville) in other channels.
