Adams to skipper former WI players
published: Saturday | December 3, 2005

Adams

FORMER JAMAICA and West Indies captain Jimmy Adams will lead a team of West Indies ex-players in a Twenty/20 cricket tournament in Miami, starting today.

The West Indies Players Association (WIPA) and the Professional Cricketers Association in England were invited by Major League Cricket in the United States to participate in the triangular series, which also includes a U.S. team.

WIPA president Dinanath Ramnarine welcomed the move to invite the former cricketers.

GREAT OPPORTUNITY

"This is a great opportunity for our former players to contribute to the game they know and love," Ramnarine said.

He continued: "It is in keeping with our mission to have all our players, both present and past, benefit in a meaningful way. It's just not about taking care of the present but looking out for the past players as well."

Squad: Jimmy Adams (capt.), Nehemiah Perry, Sherwin Campbell, Carlisle Best, Vasbert Drakes, Henderson Bryan, Milton Small, Colin Croft, Kenneth Benjamin, Ridley Jacobs, Stuart Williams, Rajendra Dhanraj and Keith Arthurton.
