Godfrey Stewart, Glenmuir get five All-Star picks

GLENMUIR'S LEARMOND

DACOSTA CUP winners Godfrey Stewart and losing finalist Glenmuir High dominated the selection for the All-daCosta team named to a squad of 19 to face the visiting Trinidad and Tobago All-Schools team which is on a two-match tour of the country.

A 20th player and the coaching staff will be named later by national youth co-ordinator Patrick "Jackie" Walters, who is co-ordinating the tour.

Both teams had five players apiece in the squad while Cornwall College had four, Mannings two, and Munro College and Clarendon College had one selection each.

Invited from Godfrey Stewart were their outstanding captain and defender Dwayne Williams, goalkeeper Dennis Taylor, midfielders Josimar Crooks and Davian Thorpe, as well as forward Ryan Smith.

Making the cut for Glenmuir were captain Dushane Ashman, the competition's leading scorer Carnell Learmond, defender Eric Vernon, midfielder Shawn Francis and forward James Thomas.

WILSON HEADS LIST

Former national Under-17 captain Omroy Wilson heads the list of Cornwall College players who include goalkeeper Tedroy Watson, midfielder Francois Anderson and forward Edward Campbell.

National Under-20 goalkeeper Duwayne Kerr and Draion McNain were named from Mannings, while Orane Sterling was the sole player from Herbert Morrison invited.

Clarendon College, which lost in the semi-finals to eventual champions Godfrey Stewart on penalties in a hard-fought game, only had one selection in forward Richard Reid. Munro's Rodeno Wright also earned an invitation.

The Trinidad and Tobago team which arrived in the island yesterday will meet the All-Manning team tomorrow before taking on the all-daCosta team at a venue to be announced.

The squad: Dwayne Williams, Josimar Crooks, Davian Thorpe, Ryan Smith and Dennis Taylor (Godfrey Stewart), Dushane Ashman, Carnell Learmond, Eric Vernon, Shawn Francis and James Thomas (Glenmuir),Tedroy Watson, Omroy Wilson, Francois Anderson, Edward Campbell (Cornwall College), Duwayne Kerr, Draion McNain (Mannings), Orane Sterling (Herbert Morrison), Richard Reid (Clarendon College) and Rodeno Wright (Munro).
