published: Wednesday | December 7, 2005

A TOTAL of 330 students - the largest graduating class in the college's history - were presented at the annual graduation and prize-giving ceremony of the College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE) held on November 24.

Forty-eight persons graduated with bachelor's degrees, 90 graduated with associate degrees, and 192 graduated with diplomas. Of those graduating with diplomas, 164 were trained teachers.

Dr. Trevor Dewdney, chairman of the board of management, presided as Master of Ceremonies. The Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dr. Omar Davies, was the guest speaker.

AWARDS

Members of the board of management, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Culture, and members of the business community and civic organisations were also in attendance, together with friends, family members and well-wishers of the graduates. Several sponsors were also present and handed out their awards to graduates.

CASE is a multi-disciplinary institution currently offering 13 tertiary level academic programmes - four diplomas, five associate degrees, and four bachelor's degrees - in such disciplines as agriculture, teacher education, natural and environmental sciences, business studies, and hospitality management.
