Pepsi adds spice this season
published: Thursday | December 8, 2005

PEPSI COLA Jamaica Limited introduced, just in time for the Christmas season, a new flavour Pepsi to its line of carbonated beverages. The regular flavour has been enhanced with a cinnamon/ginger flavour to create the new Pepsi Spice. Marketing Director Hohn Burrowes anticipates that the spicy flavour will be well received by consumers. "It encompasses flavours that Jamaicans really enjoy," he said. Pepsi Spice is available in 20 ounce and two-litre bottles for the Christmas season only.Food did a taste test and the following are the comments we received.

COMMENTS

I am not a soda lover so I would not run out and buy this product. However, it's sweet, the cinnamon flavour is distinct but where is the ginger? It also goes great with my Appleton rum and I like the strong, fizzy content.

I am not a soda person ... I'm just into juices. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted Pepsi Spice, it was well ... spicy (for lack of a better word), and the strong, acidic taste which usually abounds in Pepsi, was absent, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. So did my uncle and my cousin.

The logo is prettier and I like it.

The colour is reddish-black having a sorrel appearance after Red Label wine is added.

This would be perfect with rum because of the taste.

It tastes like the regular Pepsi but with a more refreshing taste.

Regular Pepsi has a more acidic taste, and I like that, so I prefer the regular one.

I'm glad that when I opened the bottle, it did not spill. This is a drink that might not embarrass you in public by spilling all over you.
