Upliftment Jamaica celebrates again

UPLIFTMENT JAMAICA, a non-profit organisation spearheaded by American-based Jamaican Gary Foster, will this year host its awards function and concert at the former Goodyear property in St. Thomas.
The organisation holds this and other events locally and overseas to raise funds to execute its work of training the youth of the parish and Jamaica, in areas such as garment construction, cabinetmaking, upholstering and early childhood education, all through the Human Employment and Resource Training/National Training Agency (HEART Trust/NTA).
Heading this year's list of high profile guests to the annual gala is American civil rights leader and former Democratic Party presidential hopeful Rev. Al Sharpton; Vice-President Time Warner - Gerri Warren Merrick; Managing Director Westin Reinhart - Morris Reid; Vice-President Microsoft - Gayle Cruise; Chancellor University of North Carolina Central - Dr. James H. Ammons; Vice-President and General Counsel MTV - Fredrick Morton and Johnny Furr - Vice-President of Marketing and Sales - Anhesuer Busch Inc.
