TOMORROW'S WELL supported 11-race programme at Caymanas Park boasts a Pick-9 carryover of $1 million, but the Super-6 starts anew.
Despite notable upsets by MOZURI at 25-1 in the 10th race and SIR MOHANDAS BABA at 12-1 in the nightpan, the Super-6 produced as many as 57 winners, each receiving $15,905.00. There is a big Hi-five carryover of $624,447.20 going into the eighth race.
The Super-6 embraces races six to 11. It gets underway with a 4-y-o and up restricted allowance race over 1100 metres in which PALSY WALSY has a glorious opportunity of winning for the second time since August 13.
Last Saturday, the four-year-old filly from the stables of Gary Subratie chased all the way winner SIMPLY AWESOME to the last furlong over 1400 metres, before finishing 6 1/4 lengths third.
PALSY WALSY, to again be ridden by leading jockey Brian Harding, will welcome the reduced trip and should win from the free-running filly ANCIENT SOUL (Trevor Simpson up), INTELLIGENT GIRL and VELOCITY, one who started a howling favourite for the race won by SIMPLY AWESOME, but walked out of the starting gate and was tailed off badly.
Next on the programme is a 3-y-o and restricted allowance race for the Titania Trophy to be contested by 10 starters over 1100 metres. Here, the one to beat must be the Percy Hussey-trained BLACK RIVER who failed by a neck to catch QUERIDA over 1200 metres on November 19, when having several of today's rivals behind.
BLACK RIVER, with Charles Hussey again riding for his mom Ruth, has been kept on the move at exercise and her final rattle should prove too strong for the likes of recent winner SPARK PLUG, AL'S JEWEL and JEDI ROCKET.
The Husseys should also win the eighth race over 1300 metres for maiden two-year-olds with MAKING DREAMS, who beat all barring KYSHA BABY in the Abbie Grannum Memorial Cup over 1400 metres on November 30 when leading for over 1300 metres.
MAKING DREAMS, who led for over 1200 metres that day, has less to do in present company and should win from Philip Feanny's FIRE D TRAINER who showed promise on her recent debut when a fast-finishing second to MAJOR MAYER over the straight five course.
FRENCH MINISTER has little to beat in the ninth race over 1200 metres for conditional claimers. The nine-year-old mare goes particularly well for former champion jockey Wesley Henry and based on her close fourth to AIR & DARE in open claiming on November 12, should win easily from PRODIGAL SON and CLEVER STAR.
The last two races should be won by EXPLOSIVE PEAK and O'ME O'MY. The Peter McMaster-trained imported filly EXPLOSIVE PEAK (Harding up) won both the RJR Classic and $1 million CTL Imported Stakes, as well as finishing third to CLOCK WORK in the fast-run Red Stripe Mile on November 12.
She is among nine starters declared for the William Read Memorial Trophy over 1300 metres, but has worked brilliantly for this race and should resume winning ways at the expense of SPANISH SECRETS and CHOSEN ONE, both very fit.
