McIntosh Memorial, Spaldings win titles
published: Saturday | December 10, 2005

MCINTOSH MEMORIAL had mixed results in the finals of the Windalco/INSPORTS primary schools netball and football competitions.

In the finals played at Kirkvine Sports Club on Thursday, McIntosh Memorial defeated Christiana Lease 9-3 in the netball final, but suffered at the feet of Spaldings, who defeated them 1-0 in a keenly-contested football final.

In the netball final, McIntosh reached the final after defeating Woodlands 20-2 while Christiana beat Zion Hill 15-10.

Meanwhile, in the football section, the lone goal came midway in the first half when Spaldings' Colin Williams latched on to a loose ball inside the penalty area and fired powerfully to beat Kimani Blair in goal.

Windalco's community relations manager, Glendon Johnson, commended the teams on the high level of discipline displayed.

He said "Youth programmes will always be given high priority" by his company.
