Six industrial plants to come on stream
PORT-OF-SPAIN (AP): TRINIDAD AND Tobago has reached agreements with private investors to build six new industrial plants in an investment valued at US$7.4 billion, the Prime Minister said yesterday.

Coastguard searches for Canadian
NASSAU, BAHAMAS (AP): A United States Coastguard plane was searching yesterday for a Canadian woman who may have fallen overboard from a cruise ship off the Bahamas, an official said.


Trinidadian teen charged with faking kidnapping
PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC): A 14-YEAR-OLD secondary school student who claimed he was kidnapped while on his way to school has been charged with faking his kidnapping. He is to reappear in court today.


US contractor found dead in Guyana
GEORGETOWN, GUYANA (AP): An American consultant working for the United States Government's overseas relief agency was found dead in his hotel room in Guyana, and police said yesterday they believe he was slain.
