BASSETERRE, ST KITTS (CMC):
The economy of St. Kitts-Nevis grew by nearly seven per cent last year, Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas has said.
He said the "impressive growth" followed a difficult two-year period when economic activity was relatively sluggish in the Federation.
He said the 6.4 per cent growth "is commendable by any standard but especially when viewed against the backdrop of our relatively high public sector debt, the uncertain global economic climate, war and terrorism around the globe, and rising oil prices".
