Broilers on prowl for third crown
published: Saturday | December 17, 2005

JAMAICA BROILERS go in search their third Business House cricket title this season when they face Windalco in the final of the Business House 35-over KO Cup tomorrow at Spring Village, St. Catherine, starting at 11:00 a.m.

National player Keith Hibbert, Peter Caballero, Gavin Wallace and Noel Officer will lead Broilers' charge, while Hurbert Morgan and Hamlet Stewart should be the main players for Windalco.

WINDALCO CRUSHED

Jamaica Broilers crushed Windalco by eight wickets to lift the 2005 Business House Cricket Board/Reggae Jammin 50-over League Cup at Kensington Park on Sunday.

Scores: Windalco 92, Jamaica Broilers 93 for two.

Electing to bat, Windalco found themselves in early trouble at 33-6. This was due to some penetrative bowling from St. Catherine CC Super Cup player Wallace (4-20 from 6.1 overs) and Officer (4-25 from nine overs).

Despite a fighting knock of 33 from Morgan, who shared in a ninth-wicket partnership of 23 with Troyan Ingram, 12, Windalco failed to reach triple figures.

In reply, Jamaica Broilers, led by Hibbert, 44 not out, and Peter Caballero, 20 not out, cruised to their target without any problems. Stewart took 2-19 for Windalco.
