JNA Open League set to resume

THIS WEEKEND will see the resumption of the Jamaica Netball Association's Open League, along with the exciting start to the Jamaica Public Service President's Cup.

The Open League will facilitate the playing of 16 games today beginning at 3:00 p.m., while the president's Cup is set to tip off at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.

At 3:00 p.m., Ocho Rios Magics are set to take on Police 'B', while Omega have a match-up against Raven 'C', Up Park Camp will do battle with Alpha 'B', and De La Vega 'B' trade goals with Ebony Strikers 'A'.

De La Vega 'A' will resume their season in the Open League when the 4:00 p.m. round of games begin with a game against Red Challenge.

At the same time, Alpha 'A' will square off with Maverley, while Greenwich 'A' face off with Seneca. Waulgrovians 'B' will also play a game against Raven 'A'.

At 5:00 p.m., Raven will again see action as their 'B' team will play against Ebony Strikers 'A'. In the meantime, Whitehorses continue their comeback to the league with a tough game against the marauding Waulgrovians 'A'.

G.C. Foster will play Progressive Strikers, and WINDALCO have to answer some questions about their quality in a game against Speg 'A'.

In the final set of games that begin at 6:00 p.m., Tivoli 'B' seek to get the better of New Kingston Raiders, Speg 'B' play Police 'C', Jamalco play Molynes United 'B', and Torrington Park 'A' play Skibo 'A'.

Prior to the start of the Presidents Cup on Sunday, teams that have registered will be asked to draw their names from a list of titles created by the main sponsors.

Teams will have to draw from a pool of names including: Compressor, Steam Generators, Hot Switches, Electric Sparks, Hydro Lantern, Storm Surges, Igniters, Transformers, Insulators, Power Barges, Megawatts, Reddy Kilowatt, Diwalis, and Candelabras.
