Who feels it knows it
published: Sunday | December 18, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE BIBLE says "we should do unto others as we would want them do to us."

When will Jamaicans follow this teaching as it concerns our politicians? Who feels it knows it. The point is our politicians are clueless as to the needs of the people.

Picture this, Jamaicans: let our politicians put themselves where their mouths are. Let's put Maxine Henry-Wilson in a class of 50 students to teach for a month. I don't mean in any of the top ten schools either. I am sure she won't last a week.

Give Omar Davies $3,000 for one week to go to the supermarket with and three children to provide for. Send Bobby Pickersgill to live in Greater Portmore having to take the bus for a month. I am sure he would have 'that time of month' commuting daily. Let Peter Phillips live in the worst part of Kingston with guns barking daily.

Let politicians see what everyday people are going through. The People's National Party has yet to put its slogan in effect: "Putting people first."

I am, etc.,
