THE SALVATION Army Christmas Kettle Drive has been doing well, and is expected to pick up significantly over the coming week.
So said some of the veteran kettle supervisors across the Corporate Area.
The Gleaner visited many of the kettle supervisors on Friday and found them in high spirits. With a jingling bell in his hand and a smile on his face, Marlon Ferguson predicted a sharp increase in donations next week. "So far, things haven't been bad. But next week will be even better," he said.
Mr. Ferguson is in charge of the kettle at the entrance to the HiLo Supermarket in Tropical Plaza on Constant Spring Road, St. Andrew. He has been doing the good work of the Salvation Army for the past five years and noted that the donations have not fallen off this year.
Eula Lindsay manages the kettle at the entrance to Woolworth in Mall Plaza. She has been a kettle supervisor for the past three years and also feels that donations this year are on par with recent years.
