4H clubs get monetary boost
THE GOVERNMENT of Canada, through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives Jamaica, has contributed about $530,000 to the Jamaica 4H Club, to assist with refurbishing the Home Economics Laboratory at the Denbigh Show grounds in Clarendon.

AS MAJOR attempts to revive sorrel for Christmas increase, one local company has taken a major step to pump energy and renewed commitment into the business of sorrel cultivation, with a view to sustaining the sorrel juice market.


Agriculture ministry ups cocoa price
AGRICULTURE MINISTER Roger Clarke has announced an increase in the price paid per box to farmers for wet cocoa for the 2005/06 crop year. Farmers will now receive $640 per box, up from $590, an increase of $40 per box.
