Be good every day

The Editor, Sir:
The spirit of Christmas, which entails spreading good cheer, being merry and giving to the less fortunate, should be a year-long practice and not something done once a year. During this festive season, various politicians and organisations are involved in the presentation of gifts to needy children and the less fortunate. They are also seen doing charity work, but for the other months in the year, such 'goodwill' isn't evident.
What about the other 11 months in the calendar year? During this period the less fortunate are still in need; they are in need of love, care and assistance of any form. The practice of being good towards our fellowman needs to become a day-to-day practice, instead of being reserved for one month during the year or for a few days at the most.
