THE EDITOR, Sir:
THE CHURCH was packed above capacity - standing room only before the reading of the first lesson.
And in seeing and greeting some of these new faces (in glee) of all ages I couldn't help hoping that they will continue returning.
"Oh come all yea faithful ..."
We visited a relative of a relative in a nursing home.
And in seeing the sadness and loneliness on this aged face, and others present, I couldn't help but hope that the small joy, which was manifested in their changed features, that we brought would be everlasting.
"Away in a manger ..."
At around 4:00 p.m. my family sat at the dinner table camouflaged with containers of food and drink.
And in seeing this I couldn't help but hope that the man I saw sitting on the sidewalk an hour or so before was only resting after consuming from a similar feast.
"Joy to the world the Lord has come..."
Reflect how this Christmas impacted you in combination with its true meaning and with what you saw and felt.
The reality of this will be that whatever your circumstance or situation, you will be thankful.
I am, etc.,
