Correctional officer hospitalised after crash
published: Friday | December 30, 2005

Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

A CORRECTIONAL officer was hospitalised on Tuesday with head injuries after a motor vehicle accident along the Spanish Town bypass. He has been identified as Dennis Blagrove of a Spanish Town address.

Reports are that at 10:15 p.m. on Monday, Mr. Blagrove was driving a 1990 Toyota motor car along the Spanish Town bypass, when he swerved to the right and collided with a Mitsubishi car travelling in the opposite direction. Eyewitness reports suggest that Mr. Blagrove had swerved to avoid hitting the car in front of him after it stopped suddenly.

The Mitsubishi motor car was driven by Janice Williams of a Kingston 19 address. Both vehicles were totalled and Mr. Blagrove suffered severe injuries to his head. Both motorists were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital, where Williams was treated and released, while Mr. Blagrove was admitted in serious condition.
