Premier league transfer activity slow
published: Saturday | December 31, 2005

Howard Walker, Staff Reporter

THE EXPECTED rush of player- movement from one club to another in the Wray and Nephew National Premier League (NPL) has been slow so far, after the transfer window opened on December 28, with only Onandi Lowe being registered to champions Portmore United.

Checks with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) reveal that only one player's transfer has been registered although prior to the period leading up to the window-opening Wednesday there had been a lot of talk about transfers.

Lowe, a former national player, last represented Arnett Gardens in the premier league and up to two months ago was training with the Waterhouse team before suddenly switching to Portmore.

The transfer window closes on January 20, 2006 and several clubs are keeping their possible acquisitions close to their chest.

However, rumours are swirling around as to where players might end up.

Word on the street is that Arnett Gardens' Kevin Wilson and Jonathan Williams are in talks with Harbour View and Waterhouse respectively, while Portmore striker Kevin Deerr is being wooed by Arnett Gardens.
