Best Laws of Eve
published: Monday | January 2, 2006

MCGREGOR

A RELATIVELY new feature, the popular Laws of Eve by attorney-at-law Sherry-Ann McGregor has filled a vacuum in the lives of readers. The column was designed to address aspects of Jamaican law that directly impact the lives of women and their children.

The column has generated debate elsewhere in the media - particularly the topics that dealt with marital property rights.

But we have not forgotten men and the laws that impact their lives and responsibilities to their spouses and children. So, every month for the men's issue of Flair, we examined a topic that was relevant to them.

The columns we highlight in our Best of Flair edition sparked lively discussions - The Return of the Engagement Ring was dissected at length on Ragashanti's radio talk show for over a week.

The question of palimony also elicited interest from talk show host Ronnie Thwaites, and the Amendment to the Maintenance Act came up for discussion on RJR's evening news discussion programme with Dionne Jackson-Miller.
