GENESIS FESTIVAL 2006 'Xperience the Righteous Mix was indeed dedicated to fostering righteousness in Jamaica. The Kingston chapter, held at the National Stadium car park, featured many of the top local gospel artistes as well as Trinidadian Sherwin Gardener. Chaired by MC's Nadine Blair and Omar Letford, the show was extraordinary to say the least.

At seven o'clock when the show was in high gear, the fun day had obviously not ended, as both adults and children were still enjoying the many rides and booths.

The show, though it had good performances, was also filled with much worshipping and prayers for Jamaica and Christians. Jason Mighty with his call for the 'world changers in the house' went into a prayer declaring Christians "world changers for 2006."

Following the trend, Katalyst Crew led a prayer for Jamaica as they finished with Ra Pa Pam Pam. While on his knees, the lead singer prayed about the problem of crime and violence and declared that the island needed a change and a revival. They then did their popular Take Way as hands rose to heaven in worship.

The Perpetual Praise team, apart from providing great singing, led the audience in worship. Chevelle Franklin also gave an electrifying performance. Appearing to thunderous applause, Franklin did many tunes both old and new, ending with Kill My Flesh, a prayer for Christian development.

Dressed in a green shirt and a camouflage vest, DJ Nicholas was obviously ready for war. Declaring that, "Dis year Christians, a go tek over Jamaica because we a de light a de world," Nicholas, accompanied by Kerron Ennis, Jermaine Edwards and Kevin Downswell, performed Nah Bow, a treat the crowd enjoyed.

There was an intermission at 9:30 for fireworks. The beautiful spectacle lasted for close to five minutes as everyone stood in awe at the unexpected display.

The show also featured performances by Robert and Jenieve Bailey, 2005 Rising Star winner Christopher Martin, Prodigy and the RB Gospel Singers. These were only a few of the myriad performers.

Although some performances featured some performers doing two songs, the crowd did not seem to mind.

As the party drew to a close after midnight, the obviously tired crowd was still jumping, waving, screaming and shouting, with some on their way to the other Genesis Festival in Mandeville.
