World-famous organist for Kingston Parish Church
published: Friday | January 13, 2006

WORLD-FAMOUS organist, Jennifer Bate, will visit Jamaica from January 25-30, as a guest of the Kingston Parish Church. She will perform at the church on Sunday, January 29, on the church's newly refurbished organ.

Jennifer Bate is in the top ranks of international organists and has long been a favourite at the world's great music festivals. Many composers have written for her, having been inspired by her phenomenal technique and ability to bring out the best sounds of the organ.

In 1990, Jennifer's artistry and outstanding contribution to music received international recognition with the Personnalité de l'Année award by a French-based jury. She was only the third British artist to achieve this distinction, after Sir Georg Solti and Sir Yehudi Menuhin.
