Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) continues to lose senior prosecutors
published: Friday | January 13, 2006

THE OFFICE of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) continues to be plagued with an exodus of very senior and experienced prosecutors.

David Fraser, acting senior Deputy Director of Public Prosecution, who has been described in legal circles as a very competent and hardworking prosecutor, is leaving the department.

He is one of the two prosecutors who are leaving this month. Crown Counsel Gail Walters resigned from the department this week.

Last year, six senior prosecutors left to take up jobs in other countries while two went into private practice here.

Two prosecutors were appointed as Resident Magistrates and one was seconded to the Tax Administration Department.

Mr. Fraser will be going to London in March to to take up a post with the Commonwealth Secretariat as legal adviser in the criminal law section.
