Wadadah whip Rivoli 3-1
published: Friday | January 13, 2006

Adrian Frater, News Editor

WESTERN BUREAU:

WADADAH CONTINUED their relentless quest to garner important points in their bid for survival in the 2005-06 Wray and Nephew NPL Football Competition yesterday afternoon when they carved out a crucial 3-1 win over the struggling Rivoli United at Jarrett Park, in Montego Bay.

Striker Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson (2) and Olivier Sewell were the players on target for the Wadadah team while Glenroy Hodges got Rivoli's consolation goal.

By virtue of their win, the Wadadah team moved one step closer to the comfort of mid-table, moving up from 18 to 21 points. On the other hand, the Rivoli team, which is seemingly trapped in the relegation zone, remains alone at the bottom of the 12-team standings on 15 points.

"We are now at a stage in the competition where every single point is extremely important," said Wadadah's coach Anthony 'Follies' Williams. "It is particularly important that we win games against teams like Rivoli as that is one way of making sure that we stay ahead of them in the standings."

GOALSHEET
Wadadah 3
Jermaine Anderson 28th, 68th Oliver Sewell 76th
Rivoli1
Glenroy Hodges 78th
