BARBADOS: Arthur home free

BRIDGETOWN (CMC):

BARBADOS Prime Minister Owen Arthur has waded into the controversy surrounding the sudden resignation of Opposition Leader Clyde Mascoll and is predicting easier victories for his ruling Barbados Labour Party (BLP) in the future.

Mascoll, 46, tendered his resignation with immediate effect on Friday night, after four of his opposition colleagues had earlier written to the Speaker of the Parliament, Ishmael Roett, indicating that they no longer had confidence in his leadership.
