HOLLYWOOD, Florida (CMC):
WARRIORS BOXING Promotions, which has in its stable the new undisputed world cruiserweight champion O'Neil Bell, is planning a victory celebration for the Jamaican star for his huge win over Frenchman Jean-Marc Mormeck earlier this month.
Bell stopped the highly rated Mormeck in the 10th round of their clash at Madison Square Garden in New York on January 7, to become the first undisputed cruiserweight champion in 18 years - since Evander Holyfield in 1988.
The four-hour afternoon bash will be staged at Seminole Paradise at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Saturday, January 21.
Already holder of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title, the 31-year-old Bell snatched the World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) belts from Mormeck, while ending an impressive 29-fight winning streak by the muscular Frenchman.
Set to run from 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., the festivities will include music, free food, fun, excitement and a press conference.
Bell will be available to meet his fans, sign autographs, and pose for photos.
Also in attendance will be Bell's Jamaican colleague and former world light heavyweight champion Glen 'Road Warrior' Johnson, who was the 2004 World Boxer of the Year.
Jamaican world-rated light heavyweight Richard Hall will also be at the celebration at which he and Johnson will officially announce their appearances on Warriors Boxing Promotions' February 24 event, Hard Knocks at the Hard Rock - 'The Return of The Road Warrior'.
