THE EDITOR, Sir:
I THINK that these persons who are vying for leadership of the PNP are all worthy contenders in spite of what the public is saying otherwise. When one looks at the profile of these persons, one realises that they all have the credentials necessary to be 'effective leaders' of Jamaica as one notes the path that Jamaica is on now. They are all capable of wrecking the country without much effort. If that is the path that we want us to all end, then these candidates are all worthy contenders.
These persons who are vying for the top job in Jamaica are individuals who in their respective portfolios have led the country to be one of the murder capitals of the world; one of the most poverty-stricken Caribbean territories; and are parliamentarians for some of the most crime-ridden areas in Jamaica.
THE LITTLE AREAS
These persons have not been successful in the little 'areas' that they have been given to manage and they all think that they have the solution to Jamaica's problem - to work with the big picture. If any of these individuals have the solution to Jamaica's problems, then it is my honest opinion that they should not be in office, as they all meet in the House of Parliament at least once per week and they have not put forward their plans so as to better the country. Then it seems to me that these persons are indeed selfish and spiteful for not sharing these wonderful ideas that they have.
Do these individuals really care about the country, or is it just saying 'it is now my turn to wreck Jamaica.'
I am, etc.,
