Seaga has busy year as Distinguished Fellow
published: Wednesday | January 18, 2006

Edward Seaga, Distinguished Fellow at the University of the West Indies. - RUDOLPH BROWN/CHIEF PHOTOGRAPHER

EDWARD SEAGA, a former Prime Minister, will as of this month be out of active representational politics for one year. In January last year, he accepted the position as a Distinguished Fellow on the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI).

Mr. Seaga has submitted his list of his papers and speeches penned over the last 12 months to assist readers who may wish to further their interests.

A PRODUCTIVE YEAR

He said: "My first year in my new role has been very productive, although somewhat off-target. I accepted too many invitations to be guest speaker, open conferences, or give keynote addresses. This impacted on the time for book writing. But I was able to make a solid start on the first book, on child development, from birth to age 15.

"The addresses which I gave, may have titles which could interest members of the public who would be unaware since, unlike political life, not much material from University addresses reach the public. I list them below."
