THE LOST city of Atlantis rose again, at least for a night, as Pepsi Jamaica Ltd. had its staff party at the Morgan's Harbour Hotel and Marina on Saturday.

"Our anniversary is in December, but that's an active time of year for us; we need all the production days we can get," joked Andrew Reid, general manager .

Everyone was treated to a fine Saturday evening by the harbour. Where else was suitable for a party with the theme of one of the most enchanting cities ever spoken of? The setting was truly aquatic with a mermaid seated elegantly in a clam and frogmen (guys in scuba gear), standing at the portal to Atlantis.

Atlantis was divided into two sections; one for the diners who came dressed banquet style, and the club setting with bistro table for those who just wanted to dance and have a drink.

All staff members received a small shell on arrival. But this wasn't just a souvenir. Inside one of the shells was a pearl which would win for the holder a cool digital camera. At 7:30 p.m., the venue wasn't at its capacity, but sure enough the crowds rolled in later (Jamaica time you know). Activities like the 'hot girl contest' (modelling too you know) kept the guests entertained until the professional entertainers went on stage.

Rising Stars winner Christopher Martin's arrival evoked deafening screams and a mini-stampede to the front of the stage. His attention was solely on the ladies and he wooed them at every chance. From the second he started with Bring It On Home To Me and Your Love I Still Crave he showed why he won the contest. After Martin's performance, the dancing trio from Voisemail were at it again getting everybody moving. This party was definitely going into the morning hours.
