BUTLER

OVER THE past few weeks, Donovan Butler, also known as 'Michael Wells', 'Michael Donovan Butler', 'Kevin', 'Donovan Campbell', 'Morris Kevin' and 'Sergeant Bucknor' has reportedly been falsely representing himself as a member of the U.S. Embassy Community to persons and businesses in the Kingston area.

According to the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Butler alternately poses as an assistant to the U.S. Ambassador, a U.S. Consular Officer, the director of the embassy's Office of Public Affairs, and even as a secret agent. The embassy says Mr. Butler, previously arrested for the same activities, appears to be once again at large.

The impersonator, equipped with a cellphone headset and reportedly speaking with an authentic sounding American accent, is more often than not on the telephone, purportedly in dialogue with the Ambassador. In many cases, the impostor makes offers to guarantee visas to the United States.
