Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus crashes

SPANISH TOWN, St. Catherine:

SIX PERSONS were hospitalised after a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus in which they were travelling overturned along the Spanish Town bypass yesterday afternoon.

According to Corporal Wilfred James of the Spanish Town Traffic Department, about 1:45 p.m., the bus driven by Steve Foster, was travelling towards Kingston when it skidded, hit an embankment and overturned on the left.

The passengers were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital for treatment. Some were hospitalised; they are Germane Campbell, 12, of Bridgeport; Grace Williams, conductress, 41, of Kitson Town; Monica Broomfield; Rushane Winter, 13, of Bridgeport; Crystal Stephens, 12, of Daytona, and Shana-Kaye Johnson, 15-years-old, of Greendale. All, except Johnson, sustained minor injuries. Johnson has injuries to her head and arms.

Corporal James said further investigations would be conducted.
