Calling all Comrades
published: Saturday | January 28, 2006

Mai'khi C'Nia

ON THE twenty-second day of the year 2K6, Percival James summoned the comrades to a great meeting-place in the city. And when they were gathered en masse, he turned them loose unto much expectation and jollification.

And while the comrades were being glad, the ringers of bells, the same nit-picking objectors, held council to dispense of matters relevant to a geographical territory within Labourite domain. And the scribes attended amongst them, for there usually art much farcical material to be recorded for the people's amusement at such conventions.

And the Baker arose in their midst, and spake unto them, exhorting them to prepare for the day of the national vote, for he was convinced that no victorious 'Aspirant' would tarry with a mandate which truly belonged to the Fresh Prince. Behold, the Baker acknowledged not the chronological order as established by constitutional dictate, and the parochial vote seemed to be of no consequence in his deliberation.

'KASS-KASS'

And the Baker declared unto the gathering that the internal process playing out amongst the comrades would be detrimental to national administration. Verily, the fact that there was no judicial 'kass-kass' hath comprehensively eluded him, and the comrades demonstrating a reasonable control over internal party affairs made absolutely no impression on him.

Now the head honcho of the big city also made an oration onto them... and ugliness accompanied him. For he - overcome by a raw spirit - likened the four premiership hopefuls unto empty bottles of a foul chemical, which is used to eliminate the meanest offensive bacterium. Yea, it was an outrageous display of foot-bottom politics, beamed directly into sitting rooms across the land, live and in living colours. Verily I say to ye, it was downright distasteful.

Hear oh Jamdown, for there is widespread call for thou to take back thy land and restore its former appeal. But who art thou to take it from? For the prestige of the rock is solidly embedded in the hearts of its patriots. Yea, their will shall anchor its survival, and its revival shall soar upon their spirit. But know ye that these things shall come to pass only at such time as thou art ready to unleash the authority of thine own convictions.

Therefore, ye who art apprised and bare responsibility for succouring the flock, art to be resolute in thy mandate, such that the people can be enlightened as to the route to an improved way of life, and to who art worthy of leading them there. Selah.
