THE UNCORKED surprise from the Robert Giraud Grand Vins de Bordeaux wine cellar was revealed on January 20 at Chez Maria Restaurant in Kingston.
J. Wray and Nephew was the host of the night of sampling and comparing wine notes from Robert Giraud's new products.
The event was used to generate feedback on a selected range of premium Bordeaux wines from the Giraud Wine House. The wines selected for the nights sampling are presently not listed in J. Wray and Nephew cellars but are being considered.
Among the Giraud wines sampled were the Domaine De Cheval Blanc, Chateau du Cartillion Haut Medoc and the Clos Larcis St. Emilion Grand Cru.
Though all the wines got good reviews, the favourites of the lot were the Chateau Timberlay Prestigue Bordeaux Superior Rouge and the Chateau Villemaurine St. Emilion Grand Cru.
Among the list of persons at the event were Michael and Thalia Lyn, Dr. John and Norma Soas, Anna-Kay Lee, Susan Wynter, Lloyd Distant jr. and Captain Dave McRae.
