WHEN THE semi-finals of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Jackie Bell Knockout competition continue today at the National Stadium, it will be a sense of deja vu when Waterhouse meet Harbour View and Constant Spring tackle Boys' Town.
Constant Spring will play Boys' Town in the curtain raiser at 4:00 p.m. before the heavyweights Harbour View and Waterhouse meet at 6:00 p.m.
It will be the second time in four days that Constant Spring and Boys' Town will be meeting, while seven days ago Waterhouse triumphed over Harbour View in a thrilling Wray and Nephew National Premier League end-of-round final.
On Wednesday, Constant Spring dumped Boys' Town out of the All-Island Red Stripe knockout on penalties after playing to goalless draws in both legs, while Waterhouse also won on penalties, after playing to an exciting 4-4 draw in normal and extra time.
Today, all four teams hunt two spots for the final of the Jackie Bell Knockout knowing that the previous results count for nothing.
Harbour View, the runaway league leaders, can testify to that last Sunday after losing their second end-of-round final.
STRUGGLING OF LATE
Although missing two or three regular starters, Harbour View certainly didn't look eight points better than Waterhouse and will need to reassert their authority.
They have been struggling of late, failing to secure a win in five games.
The addition of a fit Fabian Taylor to partner Luton Shelton up front, could be lethal for the Stars of the East with Marcelino Blackburn, Nicholas Dodd and new signee Desmond Breaken-ridge shoring up the backline.
Waterhouse looked the better team on Sunday and would confirm that their win was no fluke.
Three-goal hero Jomo Gordon, needs to be more consistent and along with the lively Demar Phillips, Damion Williams, super substitute Kevin Lamey, Irvino English, Vincent Earle and Roberto Fletcher should be the main players for the Drewsland- based team.
Andrew Price, technical director of Boys' Town, was quoted as saying that Constant Spring was his bogey team this season and will want to change that.
Although struggling in the premier league, Constant Spring have proved very hard to beat in the knockouts and should prove so today again.
All in all, it should be two intriguing encounters worth going miles to see.
Amission to the National Stadium is $500 grandstand and bleachers $300. Children under 12 will be allowed in free.
