Clean up Jamaica

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM elated to read of the weeding out of corrupt police officers from the force. The just laws of the land are there to prevent anarchy, immorality and chaos. It is time that the powers that be do what is right for the future of Jamaica and take it out of the sewer they allowed, and in some cases, put it in.
Recently, a friend of mine related an incident where someone wanted to upgrade his licence to PPV and he had to pay J$15,000. Now, how many drivers are on the roads who bought into the corrupt system and are operating passenger vehicles? If one life was lost because a driver was not ready for the roadways, it's one too many. It's time that department starts to clean house.
I am, etc.,
