Valu P and Naggo Head hunt victories
published: Saturday | February 11, 2006

Michael McLean, Gleaner Writer

SANTA CRUZ:

With just one round to go before the end of the cross zone fixtures in the Smirnoff Ice/Superplus Super League, St. Elizabeth's Valu P (17) and Naggo Head (20) of St. Catherine will be going all out to grab maximum points today in two of six matches scheduled this weekend.

Valu P, smarting from their embarrassing 3-0 loss to Humble Lions (12) of Claren-don last Sunday at St. Elizabeth Technical (STETHS), will have a tough task when they travel to St. Catherine to face mid-season champions Arlington at the Prison Oval, while Naggo Head host Dunbeholden.

Despite that, the St. Elizabeth team's coach, Paul Fearon, believes they can reach the premier league.

"We are going to the national premier league and nothing can stop us, you better believe it", coach Fearon said.

In the other games schedule for tomorrow, leaders Sporting Central (26) should not have much problems when they play away to New Bowens (8) at Wembley, Central Links (5) entertain Los Perfectos (20) at Lasco Oval, Humble Lions play Black Lions (8) and Mile Gully (8) tackle Georges Valley (8) in the Manchester derby.

Last Saturday leaders Sport-ing Central beat Arlington 2-1 at Brancourt, to avenge an earlier loss on penalties two weeks ago to capture the mid-season final.
