published: Tuesday | February 14, 2006

KEEPING IN line with its thrust to host regional and international world tournaments in Kingston, Jamaica's Tae kwon do seniors were out in full force at the International Tae kwon do Federation (ITF) Referees Clinic held in Miami, Florida last weekend.

The clinic was organised by the ITF in preparation for the tournament circuit this year and Jamaica had the largest contingent, 12 among the 60 participants from 14 Pan-Am countries. Fulfilling his mandate as chief instructor, Jamaica Taekwondo and head of the Caribbean Region for the ITF, Peter Lue, led the 12-member Jamaican delegation.

Lue was appointed head of the region last year at the ITF World Games in Germany. The course, conducted by Master Winboss, certifies referees from the Pan-Am region.
