Pension seminar today

ONE OF the U.K.'s most prominent pensions attorneys, Robin Ellison, will be the main presenter at a seminar series being held on February 16 & 17, 2006 at the Knutsford Court Hotel by the West Indies Trust Company Ltd. (WITCO).

The seminar will address some of the concerns of industry players resulting from the pending implementation of the new pension regulations. The session on February 16 is a closed session, while the event on February 17 is open to the public.

TRUSTEESHIP

The seminar's main presenter, Mr. Ellison is the head of strategic development for Pensions at the U.K. law firm Pinsent Masons specialising in the development of pensions and related products for insurers and other providers. His presentation will focus on the practice of trusteeship in a changing regulatory environment and will discuss tools for successfully managing the trustee role in a regulatory environment.

Other presenters over the two-day period include: the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance & Planning the Hon. Fitz Jackson and Brian Wynter, executive director of the Financial Services Commission, who will discuss the proposed amendments to the pension legislation. Actuary Astor Duggan will discuss investment regulations and the impact on the practice of trusteeship .
