CARLA CAMPBELL makes history as Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. It's every girl's dream and every model's ultimate hope: the coveted Sports Illustrated swimsuit editorial. Pulse model Carla Campbell has got it.
Pulse model Carla Campbell has made history with a stunning debut as the first model from the Caribbean to appear in the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated. On Tuesday night, Carla and the other 2006 swimsuit models were feted by Sports Illustrated at a glitzy celebrity-studded launch at the Crowbar Club in Manhattan, where the publication was released.
The launch was followed by an equally glitzy after-party at New York's ultra hot PM club on Ninth Avenue. Carla continued shooting in Wednesday in Florida and heads to Las Vegas to continue the Sports Illustrated tour this weekend.
THREE-PAGE FEATURE
Carla, who is featured in three of the multi-page swimsuit spread, now joins the ranks of the select women of any colour who have stepped into the elite Sports Illustrated club and graced the pages of the coveted publication.
Arguably the most sought after editorial job in fashion, many a model has been catapulted to superstardom after an appearance in Sports Illustrated. Rebecca Romjin, Molly Simms, Heidi Klum and back in the fashion annals-Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs and Elle Mc Pherson are some of the models who achieved supermodel status after Sports Illustrated.
Carla Campbell's career topping accomplishment can be seen in the magazine which hit news stands yesterday.
