JAMAICA'S OLYMPIC 200m champion Veronica Campbell is down to compete at the Norwich Union Indoor Grand Prix meeting in Birmingham, England on Saturday.
Campbell, who has been dominating the 60m dash for which she shares the world leading mark with Russian Mariya Bolikova, of 7.04 seconds, will turn her attention to the 200m, an event she also dominated during the indoor season last year.
Campbell's Jamaican teammates, 2001 indoor world champion Juliet Campbell, and Peta-Gaye Dowdie with whom Campbell shares the same management team, OnTrack Management whose president is Jamaican Claude Bryan, will also line-up in the field.
Dowdie, a former national 100m champion, has already recorded 23.43 seconds over the distance.
Veteran Campbell, a versatile sprinter with an injury-plagued career who won the 200m gold medal at the 2001 World Championships, is the other Jamaican runner in the field.
In the men's event, Jamaica's 200m indoor record holder Omar Brown will face a strong field which includes American Wallace Spearmon, who smashed the men's 300m record (31.88) last weekand and his US counterpart John Capel, the 2003 world outdoor champion in Paris, France.
