THE LAWNS of the Guardsman Group headquarters were littered with persons trying to find the perfect gift for him or her at 'A Time For Love'. The atmosphere was calm and serene, a change from the hustle and bustle of the walkways of a shopping centre.
There was a variety of products to choose from. Lisa Marzouca showed off her decorative glass; Al Niazi showcased his hand-made woodwork from Pakistan; the ladies of Glitter profiled their jewellery and accessories and All Wrapped Up marvelled with their gift packages.
With all that shopping, the taste buds must have been yearning for something. Aunt May's Fish Place, Chocolate Dreams, with other-worldly white chocolate this time and Jamaican staples like jerked chicken kept everyone satisfied. Nature's Paradise, an arm of the Guardsman Group hosted the event with Caribbean Producers Jamaica Ltd. as a major sponsor for this little Saturday afternoon fun.
"We saw the opportunity to bring ourselves into Kingston in a more meaningful way," says Devon Reid, sales and marketing manager.
ENTERTAINMENT
The entertainment had the audience even more enthralled. Patrons were treated to a sneak preview of the Go West Spring Collection as well as a lingerie show from Skins and Things. Men and women drooled at the sight of the 'healthy' bodies in silky garments. In between, Junior Gong's mom, Cindy Breakspeare performed with husband Rupert Bent assisting on guitar.
The giveaways were plenty including lunches and dinners for two; bottles of Yellow Tail wine and gift certificates to Gymkhana.
