St. Jago, Wolmer's go unbeaten into semis
published: Friday | February 17, 2006

ST. JAGO and Wolmer's remain the only two unbeaten teams heading into the semi-finals of the KFC sponsored ISSA High School basketball competition as round two action wrapped up on Wednesday at the National Stadium courts.

Led by another solid performance from national representative Adrian Forbes who scored 22 points, St. Jago blasted their way past Jamaica College with a 66-44 victory extending their unbeaten streak to 11 games. Jamaica College will, however qualify in the second-place spot Zone A having won two out of three games. Kingston College, who are 1-3, and Tivoli, who were 0-3, were eliminated from competition.

In Zone B things were a lot closer. Group winners Wolmer's closed out on Tuesday with an overall 9-0 record, but the battle for the second was hotly contested. Battling for the final available spot Excelsior, St. Catherine and St. George's all had wins against each other and were tied. However, when the goal difference of the teams was calculated, (exclusive of their game against Wolmer's) St. Catherine came out on top. St. Catherine will now face St. Jago in the first semi-final on Monday while Wolmer's meet JC on Tuesday.
