Shelly-Ann Thompson, Freelance WriterSt. Valentine's Day might have gone but this Sunday the family has an opportunity to recapture the essence of the day's love. One way of spreading the Valentine love with the family is attending the Post-Valentine's Day Brunch and Family Fun Day tomorrow.
Hosted by the Charitable Association of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany (CAFSA) the brunch and fun day has lots of activities and entertainment. It is being held on the grounds of the Immaculate Conception High School, Constant Spring Road, St. Andrew, and there will be a family talent show and prizes.
At the fun day, families will be encouraged to participate in the family talent show. A prize has not been allotted for this section, however, the joy and pleasure of showcasing your family talent, and perhaps winning, will be exhilarating.
Admission is free if families only want to browse the booths. However, if you want you can have lunch from one of the four food stations (Indian, Jamaican, Italian and Chinese) that will be catered by Lorraine Fung for $800. There will also be snacks on sale for the children.
As entertainment for children, a kiddie's korner will be exhibited with games, painting the face, animal balloons and hoop-la.
The fun lasts from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. By purchasing a lunch ticket you will have a chance of wining a gate prize. The first prize is a weekend for four at a Beaches property and the second prize a dinner for four at Jade Gardens in Kingston. Go, have fun with the family, while supporting the cause that is in aid of Allegany Franciscan Sisters' Schools and other ministries such as the Trench Town community programmes.
