Portland football Action continues today in the Portland Football Association's Under-17 competition with a triple header at Boundbrook. In the day's opening game, Snow Hill face Eagle Strikers at 11:00 a.m., after which Manchioneal tackle St. George's at 1:00 p.m. and Progressive face Ujama at 3:00 p.m. In last week's results, Javid Wood, Davion McKenzie, Teron Thomas and Dever Orgill carried Progressive to a 4-1 win over St. George's. Manchioneal beat Eagle Strikers 1-0 while Ujama and Fairly Hill ended 0-0.
Hotel domino
Housekeeping/Laundry defeated Entertainment/Front Office 30-23 as action in the inaugural Grand Lido Braco Resort and Spa inter-department domino competition continued recently. Executive housekeeper and captain of the winners, Hubert Francis, made a few table changes which immediately paid dividends with eight consecutive matches being won by his team.
Waterford 5K
The fifth annual Pepsi-sponsored Waterford High School 5K Road Race will take place next Sunday in Waterford. The race will start on Waterford Parkway in front of the school and end in the carpark at the school. The race, which is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. is a part of the school's 25th anniversary celebration.
St Catherine league
Action continues in the St. Catherine Major League football competition this afternoon with four matches. Meadow face Ebony Phoenix United at Ellerslie Pen, South Boro take on Waterloo United at Naggo Head, Portmore Gardens entertain Newland at Westchester and Independence City travel to Windsor Lion. All matches begin at 3:30 p.m.
Braeton in action
Two matches will be played today and four tomorrow in the St. Catherine Division One football league. Today's matches will see Braeton facing National at Ferdie Neita Park and Cumberland taking on McCooks Pen at Cumberland. Tomorrow, Old Harbour Bay All Stars face Police at Old Harbour Bay, Spring Village taking on Tru Juice at Jamaica Broilers Oval, Bodles tackle Racing at Hi Pro while Old Harbour United travel to Orangefield United.
Primary netball
Defending champions August Town and Open Rally champions Mona maintained their unbeaten records with convincing wins as the 2006 Institute of Sports (INSPORTS)/Colgate- sponsored Kingston and St. Andrew Primary Schools netball competition continued at the Leila Robinson Courts on Wednesday.
August Town defeated Holy Family 28-3 while Mona beat Seaview Gardens 30-6. In other games, St. Andrew thrashed St. Alban's 33-1, St. Patrick's secured a 22-0 win over Drews Avenue, St. Jude's beat Harbour View 20-8, Dunrobin defeated Dupont 15-8 and Hope Valley Experimental outscored Content Gap 13-1.
