The University of West Indies (UWI) Mona Develop-ment and Endowment Fund in association with the National Centre for Black Philanthropy will be hosting the second annual Conference on Caribbean Philan-thropy, from May 2-6, 2006 at the Wyndham Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay.
The conference aims to create a network to generate philanthropic contributions to assist development across the region. Already confirmed to give an address is Hollywood actor and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Danny Glover.
"The first conference focused on the relevance of philanthropy in the region with a strong emphasis on the various roles philanthropy played within the public and private sectors in developing nations.
This conference is step two and will focus on the establishment & launch of a Philanthropic Move-ment throughout the region" said Nicole Sharpe, executive director of the UWI Fund.
